In recent years I have become fascinated with something which was never even mentioned to me through all of my education or upbringing. While we acknowledge our physical, spiritual, and emotional bodies within our Western culture, we fail to acknowledge our energetic body with the same emphasis. This week we’ll look at the seven chakras with an overview of what they are and what they represent.
The entire universe is made of energy and our bodies are no exception. Chakra is a Sanskrit word which translates to wheel. This is because the life energy which moves inside of us is spinning and rotating in seven centers in our bodies. In a balanced being the seven chakras provide exactly the right amount of energy to every part of the body, mind, and spirit (i.e. the physical, spiritual, and emotional bodies). I’m only going to provide the basic information of each chakra this week. It’s important to first learn what each chakra represents, what power is harnessed through the energy it holds, and where they are located. I will continue to expand on this basic information in future blogs.

Buttercream Goodness
Entirely out of left field comes cake and buttercream. What does cake and chakras have in common? Absolutely nothing. I made a cake for an event on Friday and I had several requests for the frosting recipe. I’m sharing it here for anyone who desires to have some buttercream in their lives.
Mix 2 sticks butter and 3 cups powdered sugar in a bowl until creamy. Add 1-2 T cream (heavy or whipping). Mix for 3 minutes. Pipe or spread onto cake or cupcakes. (I substitute coconut milk for the cream.)
Peace & Love,
Janessa
