Law of Giving & Receiving

The law of giving and receiving is pretty intuitive as it guides us to be balanced in both giving and receiving.  Giving does not make you strong while receiving does not make you weak.  Both are necessary to honor the natural rhythms–both your rhythms and the rhythms of others.  Think about if you tried to give to a multitude of people and no one received, the cycle would die.  The same is true if everyone is only wanting to receive and never wanting to give.

Another way to look at this law is through masculine and feminine energy, which I’ve referenced in past posts.  Masculine and feminine energy has nothing to do with male or female.  Here’s a quick breakdown of the characteristics of each.  Masculine energy is the giving.  It’s also the energy of protection, doing, assertiveness, boundaries, confidence, and logic.  Feminine energy is the receiving.  It is passive, intuitive, collaborative, creative, kind, and gentle.

Here’s how to incorporate the law of giving and receiving into your week:

  1. Discover if you most naturally give or receive frequently?
  2. Practice the opposite.  If it is easiest for you to give, receive EVERYTHING that is offered to you this week with a simple thank you.  Even if you don’t want it or need it.  Notice the immediate impulse to politely decline or turn it away.  If it is easiest for you to receive, be mindful to give one thing each day.  Maybe it’s giving your time, maybe it’s offering an ear to listen to someone who needs to process through a life challenge, or maybe it’s giving money away.  Give for the sake of giving with no expectation for that person to give back to you.  The universe has it covered and will ensure the giving and receiving will come full circle to each of us.

As I said when I began this mini-series about the laws of the universe, they truly are game changers.  They might seem so simple and insignificant, but when these are the foundation to build your belief system life changes in the best ways possible!  When I began my personal development journey, I thought the keys to life were going to be major and radical concepts.  In fact, I was so underwhelmed and unnerved the day my coach told me to rest.  I was having a conversation with her about what my next step should be in a project I was working on, and she diverted the conversation, asking me “What do you feel like doing?” The answer was easy and immediate:  nothing.  She gently responded, “I think you should do that then.”

I almost became unhinged.  This coach was a serious investment… and I invested in someone telling me to do nothing?!?  What a rip off!  I kept these thoughts to myself and discovered she was right.  She knew the law of giving and receiving and she knew I was relentless in my ability to do.  I wasn’t so proficient in my ability to be or rest.  Her suggestion ended up being the lightbulb moment where I began to learn my own rhythms and to embrace both giving and receiving.  It has been integrating these laws into my life which has made it fun, joy-filled, rich, easy even in difficulty, and balanced.  These were the profound and radical concepts I had been looking for, delivered in simple little tweaks that came with an incredible return on my investment!

When you are ready to release your blocks to embodying these 12 laws, mold your mindset to success, process your emotions, maintain a clear spiritual connection, and master the art of being human I would be honored to come alongside you!  DM me through Facebook, IG, or email (fiercelyradiantsoul@yahoo.com) for details.
